Everyone needs a go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe, and this is it. We've tested hundreds of variations to find the perfect ratio of butter, sugar, and flour. The result? A cookie with crispy edges, a chewy center, and pools of melted chocolate.

Why This Recipe Works

We use melted butter for a chewier texture and a mix of brown and white sugar for that classic caramel flavor. Chilling the dough is optional but recommended for a deeper flavor!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Mix Dry: Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Mix Wet: Beat melted butter and sugars until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla.
  3. Combine: Stir dry ingredients into wet until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Bake: Scoop onto baking sheet. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 9-11 minutes until golden.
